​2. Desensitizing

  • Overall desensitizing

  • Bathing

  • Fly spraying

  • Whip handling

  • Lariat handling

  • Rain slicker over the body and head
     

​3. Extra Skills

  • Introduction to tying and hobbling

  • Dragging an object at walk and trot

  • Tolerating a flank strap at walk and trot

  • Tolerating leaning over the back with small amount of weight

  • Cinching with a pad and surcingle

  • Trailer loading

  • Leading and sending over obstacles such as:

    • Bridge

    • Tarp

    • Gate

​1. Groundwork Handling

  • Haltering and leading

  • Picking up all four feet on a loose lead

  • Backing up

  • Lateral flexion from the ground

  • Moving shoulders and hips laterally on a loose lead at walk and trot

  • Sending in a balanced circle at walk and trot (both directions)
